This group is for weight loss support for lower bmi bandsters (of course anyone is welcome!).

For encouragement, tips, accountability.... Give stats, helpful advice, etc.

How much weight you have lost, how long it took. etc.

In some case I have found it takes a lower BMI patient a lot longer to lose the weight.

Introduce yourself and jump on in!!!:welcomeB: :welcome2:

Serious:

I was told the same thing. When I went to my consult on Thursday - He said I could lose 50-60 pounds in about 6 months, then just maintain it. WOW, I can't wait for the band.

Audree,

You will probably fluctuate, but only by three to five Lbs, most women do....but after your first fill if you follow the bandster rules it's all down hill from there. You are probably going to be one of those people who lose all your weight in 6 months. Dr. Rumbaut said lower BMIs can usually lose all their excess quicker because we have less to lose. In your case, 50#, in my case 60#.

Dr. Ortiz said the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!He told me I could lose 28 or 58 in 6 months, depending if I followed the bandster rules or not!!! I am! I have a goal of getting to goal by my 12 year anniversary which is July 1st!!!

:clap2:

Did you give yourself any goals? I made mine up at the bottom of my signature. I also want to make me some motivational sayings to put near my treadmill so while I'm walking I can focus - read them, look at old pictures of me, etc. I'm going to make this work - I want her so bad - they just have to approve me, I would be a great mother to her (Brittany the band).

My Bandy is a part of me now! I don't ever want to lose her or abuse her. I even pray for God to bless my band everyday.

I need to get my butt in gear and have no excuses as of tomorrow when I have clearance to work out! My step daughter works at LA Fitness Sports Club and I get a free membership. I have every machine known to man, olympic pool, classes of every kind, and she said 2 personal trainers would train us. Now, I just have to stop being lazy! I don't want to have my skin sag.

I just need to do it!!!!

Let's keep each other accountalbe!!! I even have an elyptical trainer in my garage.

I even have an elyptical trainer in my garage.

Is he cute?:D Just joking.

Remember the hardest part is getting there - once you are there you are not going to waste your time, so you will work out and enjoy it.

AND DONT FORGET TO DANCE THIS WEEKEND. I'LL BE THINKING OF ALL OF YOU WILL ME AND MY KIDS ARE PARTYING WITH OUR FAKE DRINKS AND MARDI GRAS BEADS.

Exercise will be so great for you. Now that we don't eat all the time; Let's get moving.

Easy to say. I have another 6 weeks before I can exercise again but I enjoy just little walks.

The band helps me not just worry about what I am going to have next for dinner or lunch ect.

I honestly feel my hunger is where it used to be when I was 102 pounds. With the south beach diet plan and exercise I think we can all meet goal.

I know this sounds crazy but I have not set a goal for myself. I just want to try be happy with myself one day at a time and where God leads me I will follow. I don't have to be skinny, skinny; I just want lots of energy to enjoy my days and my kids.

The band helps me keep my food in its place. It is fuel. Not bordem or comfort.

I wish you all the best of luck tomorrow on your new journey and I hope those of you waiting will soon receive good news about your upcomming banding.

Breakfast: Scrambled Egg with cheese on it.

Lunch: Lean Cuise with Spinach and Chicken in cheese sauce

Supper: BBQ chicken, canned cranberries

Drink Vita Water all day. Dragon juice is my fave.

Cranberry juice to clean the bladder

Fat free latte

I think that now I have though about my goal; I think that why I am not posting a goal. I am used to all the other failed diet. I feel 150% confident this I can't fail.

Just listen to the band. I can't wait for a fill and then more fills. Listen to me I want to be a fill junky.

LoL,

Madden

Audree you have done GGGGGGGrrrrrreat! Way to go, that is a huge loss foe a low bandster I D SAYYAAAAYAAAYYAAAAA

dOES ANYONE KNOW IF THAT SAMS CHOICE WATER WITH THE FIZZ IS GOOD, OR IS IT LIKE HAVING A POP? IM drinking it instead of pop now. 3 days off pop. I can do it.

Hi Audree. Thanks for keeping track of me. I am so glad you are doing well. I will write more on my CND page...I don't belong here with your lower BMI's...yet...lol.

Congrats everyone ...you are doing great!

Madden,

Glad to see you are back and healing. I think I am waiting a bit to get filled so I will be interested to see how you and Audree do with your fills....

Keep us posted on your healing!

What a welcome back present. You weighted your self and are loosing like crazy.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the prayers guys. Wow, I feel like I had been run over.

Today I finally feel like myself. I have been sleeping alot. I had the strenght to weigh to weigh today and ready.

I am down from 217 to 191.5. That is just amazing. As I always say. I love this band is keeping me from eating. I only eat three meals a day. Protein and veggies only. I am happy with that too because I feel so full after the sweets don't even look good to me. If I have to I have 1 bite and it hits my sweet tooth.

I checked my bmi and am down to 35. I hate that I am so short, only 5'2.

I am glad to see you all doing south beach because protein is so important. You will all be surprised but you should stay full on this.

Audree, I am having my first fill on 2/16. I think you going on 2/14. I can't wait. My hysto delayed this which I am glad because I got sick and vomited after surgery so I am glad I was not filled.

I hope everyone is still feeling really modivated and those that are going to be banded, you will have no regrets. It may start rough but this is the weapon we need. The band does not let you comfort eat.

Good Luck Everyone.

Madden

Bikergirl,

I totally agree with you about that! I have gotten so much information and support from this site.

Like I posted before this is lapband school. I am taking notes like crazy. I hope to be banded soon. I can't wait.

You guys are so supportive.

Keep up the good work.

Madden: Glad your back!

I loved the goals thing. I have my money jar all set up.

I think it really boils down to the exercise for most low bmi'ers. I haven't lost anything in two weeks. I dropped 1 lb a day for the first three weeks or so and now I've completely stopped. So I'm going for my first fill on 2/2/07 and see what happens. Unfortunately for all those lazy people like me or buzeee as well, we are going to have to put from our part to make this tool work for us. I HATE EXERCISING! but I know I gots to do it if I want this to work!

I just thought about something else. The trick and the point is to stop trying all the fad diets! These always fail people! Learn how to mix your foods and what portions you should be eating. If you need to count calories you can at first but research has shown that eventually you will go back to gaining weight if you don't learn how to mix your foods. Chose good fats that will help speed your metabolism. I recently started reading some nutritional books so that I don't have to depend on the calorie, carb, south beach FAD diet. Those lien cuisine's and and south beach meals have HIGH salt which can give you urinary and bladder infections if you don't keep up with 60oz of water. SOrry to sound like such a poop but the key is to change your life not just experience a quick weight loss and then go back to your old ways. Educating yourself is key in this transition! trust me I've had such a hard time with this as well. I went from 2500 calories to 800-1000 and I'm miserable. But I'll be much happier when I'm sizing 7!
