I'm 1 year post op. about 75-80 % of my stomach was removed laparoscopically. Recovery was great! No gas pains. Was ready to return to work in 2 weeks but I took a month to learn my new eating habits. A year out, u can definitely eat more but I've become more conscious of what and how much I eat. I lost 95lbs in 5 mths, found out I was pregnant and due any day now. Gained only 12lbs, all belly!! I have no food restrictions, watermelon was hard at first but now no problems. Only have to take Calcium and a Multivitamin. Best decision I've ever made!! Good luck!!

I see I didn't address your leak issue. I didn't have that problem, and majority of my YouTube family didn't experience it either. I think it boils down to the individual and the doctor, in my opinion..
