Surgery next Monday

Recommended Posts

I will have surgery next Monday. Does anyone have any last wk advice to make me more prepared. I have been reading this site for over 6 months but still not sure I know everything or can remember it all.

I do have a question how did everyone feel the first month w/o a fill did you feel restriction or not any at all or a little

I am a head hunger girl and I am nervous

I actually did feel some restriction from the start. Which was nice.

I wasn't hungry at all the first month or so, I think just from the surgery and recovering.

I'm a monday-er myself! I see you have been losing weight on the pre-op diet. I think that's great, if you've been able to stick to that enough to lose some weight then looks like you are able to tackle the head hunger as it comes.

Hope everyone has a quick surgery and little pain on Monday!

Don't worry. If you've read this site, you're prepared. I had everything I could possibly need thanks to this board!

I didn't want to eat at all for about a week. I forced myself to eat in the beginning.

After a week and a half or so, I was hungry again....but it's very different. I'm a compulsive eater/head hunger person, too. You'll be fine.

I am monday too. I think I have been doing things right so far, moderation and good drugs for anxiety have been a key factor for me. I am not anxious about the surgery, just about having to abandon my former best friend. food has been a crutch for me for as long as I can remember. I am never alone as long as I have food right? Ironically, foid has also been destroying my quality of life, it is time for the real me to work through whatever it is I have to work through. 3 more sleeps till I leave.

Good luck everyone!

Monday girl here too!

We are going to be fine. I doubt I will get a decent night's sleep in the next week but overall I am sure it will all work out. Hang in there!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
