Ok, I have a special situation. I'm 9 days preop and Sunday night my son was admitted for an emergency appendectomy. I've been at the hospital now 3 days with nothing but apple and grape juice. If I see any more juice I'm going to throw it through the window (not really).
Yesterday I was allowed to start milk a little at a time. Today it went fine also. Tomorrow I'm allowed Protein shakes. I am physically hungry and was wondering if I'm allowed to have a pediatric size ice cream. I know it's not an ok food, but it's milk and sugar. Should I just tough it out til I can get home and get my protein tomorrow? Can I eat this without injury to my pouch? I just need another 150 cals and need a bridge. I'll never eat ice cream again (blech, but it sounds better than more apple juice).
