I was just sleeved Friday

Recommended Posts

I had surgery Friday morning. I'm still in the hospital. Anybody have a lot of gas in the stomach? Increases gas since they made me drink Protein shakes. I'm still in a little bit of pain.

All suggestions welcome.

I know you're still in the hospital, but ask someone to bring you Gas-X strips. And walk around as much as you can. :)

Good luck, and I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Walking around will be the best. After 3-4 days it will get MUCH better!

Air used in surgery is trapped in your abdominal cavity. The more you move around, the faster it will absorb into your gut, allowing you to "release" it. And, it feels sooooo good!

This is so true! Gas X won't help except in your mind because its not in your intestines. They inflate your abdomen so they have more room to move around. The air or gas has to be absorbed by your cells. So walk, walk, walk and you'll feel better faster! Best wishes!

I concur :) I was sleeved 3 weeks ago. Walking is the best remedy ever. Yes, for me it hurt to walk but it's worth the gas feeling going away :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
