I have always taken a multi-vitamin, and calcium. they told me to continue during pre-op.

When in doubt, ask your bariatric team. For my pre-op liquid diet we weren't supposed to take our multivitamin anymore. That was more due to the meal replacement shakes from the hospital already having the vitamins in them though I believe.

They should tell you when you see them before the pre op diet. I took my own multivitamin, and they had me stop and take theirs (much stronger, and lots more vitamins than mine) plus an iron supplement. Every doc will be different though.

I started my pre-op diet 2days ago I'm just noticing I'm feeling more tired then usual...so I was wondering if a multi-v would work it's the weekend and I can't call my doc!! Ill wait till Monday to find out if its ok!!

Thanks everyone!!!

I too am told to stop vitamins during pre-op diet. Also no NSAIDS. Psych meds, thyroid meds and stuff are ok with my surgeon, but every doc is different.
