no problems..was told not to use them, but once in a while I do.

Anybody have a problem drinking out of straws after surgery?

Nope. But I did wait til I was about 6-8 weeks post op.

Sent from my iPad using VST

No problems, but like others, i waited till i was at 4 weeks out, and was careful. Biggest part is it's easy to drink to much to fast, so just be careful.

I have used them for about the last 3 days for shakes and some liquids. No probs. I find I drink more (quantity wise) so that is a good thing. No pain or gas.

Ive used a straw since I got home from surgery. I tried but I can't drink out of a cup without gulping air because I never drink out of a cup. I went from a baby bottle to a straw in my momma's cup lol. It works for me.

Texas! MEEE TOOO!! I cannot drink without a straw.

Paulina- I dont get gas or bloat. I think it all depends on whether you can handle it or not. I breathe out the air in my mouth through my nose when I swallow....but I've always done that. Good luck

I used straws too. I was able to get in more fluids that way. I had no problems.

I asked my nut about it and she said they say not to use it is because you can easily take too big of a sip with a straw.

Imma try a straw doggon it! lol! Wish me luck. I'll be 7weeks out this week.
