constipation

What can I take for this? Guess I'm not getting enough fiber, but I'm not supposed to eat fiber right now, right?

What can I take that is natural?

I bought grape juice (no sugar), but didn't work.:phanvan

Thanks in advance.

Kat.

Try apple juice or benefiber. I use to put it in my coffee every morning, but that didn't really work for me either. I quit worrying about it and it seems to be more of a natural thing now, once or twice a week, LOL. If I feel really backed up, I take Ducolax.

why do you say no fiber? I was banded on Oct 19th. Most days I have one big shredded wheat biscuit and an egg for Breakfast. No problems here. Now, I only put enough milk in the bowl so the shredded wheat absorbs it all and is very soft.

Good luck, give it a try

In answer to your question about the rest of my diet, Jack, it's like this:

BREAKY: soft boiled egg

LUNCH: tuna with mayo

SUPPER: fish or chicken with a little broccoli (I usually stuff the chicken with a bit of cheese - oh oh, that could be part of my problem).

My diet is not really exciting yet as I'm nervous to try things. I had my first experience the other day with tuna (now I'm super careful). I was talking at lunch while eating and my first bite, I think, was too big. Anyway, I think I know what the PB'ing thing could feel like now as I had to excuse myself, go into the washroom and wait until the pain in my chest subsided - I didn't have to PB, but felt pretty darn near.

Maybe I should have some fruit? My doctor didn't mention any fruit right now. He's not very informative.

I will try the shredded wheat that a couple of you have suggested.

Thanks again.

i read these posts during my pre-op and i thought like i'd have that problem ... i was very uhhh regular..

now i go maybe every other day or so, if i notice i'm feeling crampy and havent gone for a while i dont eat my cheese for a day or so and all is usually well.

Activia is wonderful.......found in the dairy case by the yogurt. It comes in many different flavors and works. Just eat 1 a day.

I've been drinking a "Smooth Move" herbal tea every evening sweetened with splenda. It's good and it helps. Found in supermarkets.

I just wanted to let you all know that I have been having terrible constipation and what really helps is milk of magnesia....There is a cherry flavor so it doesnt taste that bad and I take it before i go to bed and I wake up and guaranteed to empty...hahaha and it doesnt give you stomach cramps at all like some of those things do...Just wanted to let you all know...

I drink Aloe Vera juice. You can find it in the health food stores or Trader Joe's. Tastes awful, but 1 small glass keeps you regular and has many health benefits. No side effects at all.
