I'm from Appleton WI... I hope to connect with others in Wisconsin! In the land of cheese, brats and beer... it's good to have support! :D

Hey Stef... Congrats on being sleeved and it looks like you are doing fantastic! I am down 48lbs from the start of my pre-op diet and 38 lbs since surgery on 4/1 and am ridiculously happy with that. :)

I am in Appleton which is quite a distance from you but at least I am in WI!

That's great! Congrats on the weight loss that's awesome! Yah at least we can share the struggles of living in the state known for its cheese, brats and beer! :)

New to this forum and from, you guessed it, Madison! So wonderful to see other Wisconsinites and their successes.

Madison as well, and like someone else who posted earlier have surgery with Dr Greenburg at UW Hospital. Mine is scheduled for June 28th.

I'm not a Wisconsinite but I am married to one. Can I be an honorary one?

They are some of the best people ever! :)

Hi Jim,

So happy to see another UW Hospital patient on this board. I just started the process with Dr. Campos.

Of course, anyone is welcome to be a cheesehead.

Hi Jim,

So happy to see another UW Hospital patient on this board. I just started the process with Dr. Campos.

Good luck on your journey. I first contacted the UW last September and after 6 months of diet/nutrition I had my meeting in Janhuary with the doctor. Classes in March with Tammi. It was a long wait but glad the date is approaching. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

I meet with Tammi in the morning for the first time. I'm looking forward to seeing her. Was your wait from initial meeting to surgery a typical time frame for UW? I'm on month 5 of the required 6 month diet for my insurance. 3 weeks to go until the 6 month mark. I have an endoscopy on Monday. It seems like I've been pretty lucky with how these initial appointments are all taking place within 2 weeks.

From the psychologist I understand that there are 4 classes and 2 weeks of a liquid pre-op diet. So, you must be close to starting your pre-op diet. I'd be interested to know how you do with it.

Did you go to the support group meetings, too? I haven't been, yet, but I plan to attend the next one.

Tammi is really nice... Say hi to her for me ( Jim Trudeau ) I start my two week liquid diet on Saturday. My biggest delay was having to wait like two months to get in for a mandatory sleep study at UW sleep clinic. My Doc said about three months is the usual time from first meeting with them. I have not been to the support group because I have been playing vball on Monday nights but I am planning to go in July as I will be recently sleeved and not playing that night.

I'm just across the state line in MN!! I was sleeved on May 6th!

Said hi to Tammi for you this morning, Jim! I think I'm going to like her, too.
