Hi everyone! I am new to here and excited to see such a place exists for people who are going through this to come together! I have bern working towards getting my surgery for about a year now. I have medicaid insurance so it has been a wild ride getting it approved and going through all the requirements but april 8th will be my last day meeting with the qualifying place and I will be on my way to meet my surgeon and get acquainted with The hospital i will be having the surgery in. As it stands I've only lost 7 pounds on the pre-op diet but i have hypothyroidism so it makes it more difficult my BMI is 41 and my weight currently is 286 at 5'4". I have been doing my research and am excited but also anxious to hear from others as well. Anyways happy to be here!

My mother in law is really having a hard time getting an approval on Medicaid. Any advice on getting an approval? She has been denied an needs to prepare her appeal. Thanks in advance
