Dr. Rodriguez

I'm always hearing about all of these other Dr's in TJ and their experiences with them but never any about Dr. Rodriguez at the INT hospital....anyone have any stories to share that I might have missed?

Hi Brownie,

U have nothing to worry about !! I had mine with Dr Rod at INT 04/26/13. Overall a good experience. The day shift nurses and all the Drs speak good English. The night ones may have a harder time communicating but they know what to do and your meds etc.

I was a lil nervous but it was a good experience. You have ur own room n it's only 10 rooms per floor I think.

Email me at giffojess@gmail if u have further questions ...

Take care n good luck !

Hi Brownie7....Dr Rod and his complete staff are amazing!! Like slimchic said the night nurses are a lil hard to communicate with but their is always a Dr on the floor that speaks perfect English. The hospital is so clean and everyone is there to help you! You CANT go wrong with Dr Rodriguez....he is the best if you ask me!!

Im at Star Medica right now... surgery in the am, so far they have made me feel like the queen!! Only a younger fatter version!! :P

looking forward to hearing about the whole experience, JillianMarie!! Excited for you!!

It's a little bit hard to type on my mobile phone...But I want to at least say that everything at this hospital is top notch. If anyone is considering different surgeons... I can only speak for this one; but everything was absolutely phenomenal...the Staff, the doctors the facility... everything A+++ I will write a full review of my experience when I am home on Monday.

how r u? I am headed there on June 5th with dr rod.

Hey, everyone! Just got home on Saturday after surgery with Dr. Rod on Thursday. First, I have to say, I was the biggest chicken before I left-I worried about ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. There was nothing that did not cross my mind...but...it could not have been a better experience! I can't say anything bad about the whole thing. I was treated so well. Dr. Rodriquez is wonderful! It's all good, I promise! I am 4 days out today and feel just fine. The hospital is clean and nice and the staff is awesome.

I'm schedule for my vsg with Dr Rodriguez at star medica in Juarez Mexico on July 12th the nerves are kicking in, but overall feel very confident about my choice, have only find good comments and experiences about the surgeon and his team, anybody knows how many surgeries he has schedule a day?

Rocilore33 ... Hard to say how many per day Dr Rod does but he's good at what he does !! I had mine done 04/26/13 and no complications. Good experience overall with Belite Dr. Rod , Dr. Elmo & the anesthesiologist (lady Dr, real good too). You are gonna be fine !!

slimchic2013 Congrats! on you weight loss! hope my surgery is as successful as all of you, today is the day, can't wait to get this over with and join you all on the loosers side

You are gonna be GREAT!! Dr. Rod and his team are the BEST!! Say hello from Jillian Groves - I was sleeved May 10, and I have had NO Complications, No throwing up, nothing... down 43 lbs! You are gonna LOVE your sleeve!!! :)

As of today I found out I believe I will be with Dr. Rod in TJ on August 21! I am both excited and scared to death. My companion will be my 16yo daughter. She will be great but then I start thinking about complications and her being there without my voice to guide. I also was beginning to wonder about Dr. Rod as I've not seen him on here too much. I have to say though....JoAnne has been my coordinator and she has been amazing! Every question has been answered almost immediately even though we've done it through e-mail. JoAnne also will be there for the surgery dates and that makes me feel much more comfortable. She was also a patient of Dr. Rod and she sings his praises. I've been waiting for this for quite some time. Seems to me that if you have surgery in the US, then you are covered by your insurance. If you go to MX, then you are self pay. I'd really like to know the complication % out of MX versus US. I believe more complications are US at least if what I'm reading here is true. I don't have a choice really....it's either go to MX... or no surgery. I can't believe the crap people give you if you tell them. It's as if they think you are just going to automatically get kidnapped or worse, the surgery will self combust. I can't say I have NO worries but after reading as much as possible, I think I'm ready to accept the risk. It's just happening soooo fast!
