March 12, 201313 yr I'm getting sleeved on march 18th and today is the first real day of my pre-op diet. I'm really excited but I am STARVING! Does anyone have any suggestions or "free" food that is filling? Thanks y'all.
March 12, 201313 yr Meat, veggies and shakes. They are not free, but they are not carbs or crap. If you have to do clear liquids, add protein to broth or have an extra shake. Have lots of hot tea and water. Keep the protein up to help with hunger. I figured it was better to have an extra shake rather than blow it having a carby food that would negatively impact my liver and thus... My surgery. A huge piece of this is just sucking it up and doing the thins that we need to do. Hang in there. Best of luck.
March 12, 201313 yr I also started my pre op diet today.... My surgery is on April 2nd. I'm already soo hungry and I'm having a hard time seeing myself being able to stick to this for the whole 21 days Any one have any tips to make the shakes taste a lol better?

March 12, 201313 yr I am on day 2 of the preop diet with surgery on the 21st. I purchased Isopure Protein powder from GNC. I have Mango/Peach (I think it has peach). It doesn't taste too bad. I am also drinking Pure Protein drinks from costco. At dinner I get to have a small portion of meat and vegetables. Dinner has never been so satisfying. Good luck, Jay
March 13, 201313 yr try adding a small spoon of peanut butter. I was 95% perfect on my pre-op diet. I did lick peanut butter every now and then. I lost 8 lbs in one week. Chantalen.....You really have to do it for 21 days? that sounds like a long time. Good luck to you. Remember its your life. So do what the dr. says.

March 13, 201313 yr Author Pre-op diet day 2... I have up caffeine and my head is killing me! I thought I'd better do it now than have more problems post op. I don't think I ate enough yesterday. March 14, 201313 yr Im exhausted and feel sick. I have to get 70 grams protein and i just drank 2 glucerna shakes to reach 25 g so far today.
March 14, 201313 yr Caglefan... Seriously, try the Unjury chocolate. It tastes like chocolate milk and each shake has 21gm of protein EACH. They ship really fast. I have tried five different brands and the Unjury is the one I know I will be able to keep down after surgery. Deborah
