Girdle/compression advice

I was told by someone who had the sleeve to make sure to sleep on ur stomach and to wear something that will keep everything compact. The pressure is supposed to help with healing. Anyone heard this???

Meant to add, it hurt to sleep on my stomach, and even sometimes to move around, and that's why I couldn't at first.
