Hi I have been bouncing around on here to figure some of this stuff out! As for now I have not quite gotten what a "fill" is! I must be missing it! I have been looking and reading some much on here!

I had the RYN bypass 6 yrs ago and I only wish that this kind of things would have been available! you all are sooo connected! It is truely inspiring to me to read and learn! It seems like a larger familly has formed and I think that is awesome!

Can some one help me to have a total understanding of this procedure? I understand the banding but thelinks I have been on do not seem to go into great detail !

Thanks

Vicki :clap2:

Basically, the band is a ring that is placed around your stomach. It can be inflated by adding saline (a fill) or deflated by removing saline.

Thank you both for your help! I feel so badly that I let the weight come back! I did not realize it until we lost our home to a house fire this past April, we were rescued off the burning roof and I remember a sudden fear that my weight may collapse the roof with my three children, hubby and myslef! Weirdest thing to thing it would hit you at a time like that..that you h ave packed the weight back on!

I have been weighing the desion of having a "tune up" with my RYN or to find a doctor that would do the banding on me! Really still undecided, the main thing is how invasive the RYN was, I still have a scare that is at least 8 inches long and has some spots that are as wide as 3/4 an inch! I do not worry about the vanity thing, three kids strech marks to my ears, all c sections, I could really care less about another scare! It is the healing plus I scare too much in the inside when cute completely open! I really like that you all respond to each other and to new comers as myself, I have found no other site that is as dedicated to helping each other! Anyone that has any little info you would like to give me I would be sooo grateful! Honestly I am not even sure that my insurance will even approve it with out a long drawn out tado as it was with my RYN. But please I want to gain as much knowledge as I can with this. That was a down fall before. I never went through any classes explaining it, all I knew was I would be on liquids for about 6 weeks then learn to eat again and loose weight!

thanks again for your help and I have started looking at the web site you recommeded GayleTX

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
