If you are by yourself (like I was!) putting on socks is not an option as you likely won't be able to bend over to put them on. Something to think about!

Good point! Luckily i'm traveling with my sister. But I still don't feel comfortable asking her to put my socks on!

Definitely what I'll go with again. Especially since we'll have the special circumstance of the hotel and needing to be acceptable in public! You'll love it!

Someone mentioned the IV getting in the way. That is a good reminder! I don't know how they'll feel about it down there and some hospitals prefer you stay in their gowns but when I've had to stay more than a day (like with both c-sections) I asked to get in my own clothes and we worked around the IV. Just have a nurse or your support person, help you run the bag through your shirt. Make sure you have one tank top or short sleeve shirt for the hospital to make that easy and keep fabric off of your IV site to avoid irritation!

They will be coming in often to check your incisions and empty your drain. A shirt is much easier to lift up than a nightgown.
