Day 4 post op, burning heart?

I have been experiencing this burning sensation on my heart, usually while drinking (I haven't really started eating yet) it's not heartburn it's like an actual burning sensation on my heart...is this just another form of gas pain? Is this normal?

I think you are right about the gas pain. My whole chest hurt then occasionally one shoulder.I am five day out and that has strated to subside. the pain is worse if I take to big of a sip or to close together. I have found sitting up striaght and taking a deep bath helps get past the pain. Tha other thing is make sure you are taking your PPI. I had heart burn this morning than I remembered I was due for the PPI. one hour later I was okay again. good luck. each day will be better.

Are you taking stomach-lining meds? I left hospital, finished the course I had and was then trying to sleep upright to ease the horrendous acid burning! I didn't realised I needed those meds for another month.... Call your dr.
