Optifast

Anybody every try Optifast? Pros ? Cons? It's gonna cost me about 250 for two weeks of it. My dr requires it for the 2 weeks liquid diet.. Thanx

If your doctor requires it then fine, but you gotta wonder - Is he selling it to you? If he requires something like that which is quite expensive and he is selling it I question the ethics of that, espcially if he will not give you any alternatives to pick from.

Optifast is fine, but so are any of their competitors.

Well and especially because there are better higher Protein options out there. Seems odd but like you said Carrie, if its only a one shot and after you can switch to whatever works best for you then yea I guess dive in.

That sucks, I'm in this stage right now and am the family's cook too. The one nice difference is that my Dr.'s office says only cut out two meals a day and then still have one reasonable sized one at the end of the day. 1k calories total for the day including the shakes so I have to pay attention but at least its something.

I used optifast in 2010 and I lost 60 lbs in 90 days!!!!! I stuck with chocolate and drank it very cold and immediately after preparing. I enjoyed them I too have a case of them sitting any room and I'm planning on utilizing them after my surgery on March 6 after my 1st week of clear liquids are done!!

Drs make money off of any retail they have....there are options besides optifast..if he is requiring it then it is about the money or just making it easy to not have to approve everyones shake of choice. Blend it with ice and add a tsp of fat free sugaer free jello powder will make it yum
