Arthritis Meds

Hi All,

I am scheduled to be banded on 12-28 and when I saw my doctor he told me I would not be able to take my arthritis medication any longer. I have been taking Mobic for years (bone on bone in right knee) and without it the pain is horrible. Has anyone else had to stop taking their meds and if so what have you been using in place to ease the pain?

Thanks,

Janet

Hi Janet,

I also have arthritis in my back and knees. I was not on any meds before surgery but was also told no anti-inflamitories  Just recently I hurt my back so bad it took 6 weeks before I could even sit for more than 15 minutes. The only thing my doc gave me was pain killers and muscle relaxers.

If I get really horrible days, I take liquid tylenol. I try not to take it to much because it really upsets my stomach. Bengay and a heating pad helps a tad.

Sorry I can't give you the info your looking for but this is a great question.

Eileen

My doctor as well took me off arthritis meds and put me on pain killers and muscle relaxers. I take Loritab 10, and flexeril per his instructions. I had neck and back and foot surgery.
