Anyone get a head cold immediately post op?

My daughter had the sniffles a few days before surgery. I couldn't go to the hospital without a hug so now I've got a sore throat and cough. Ouch! I've been taking robitussin but I still feel like I need a big deep cough to clear it out. And at 2 days post op a big deep cough is not an option. Any tips?

O bummer hon. I am 3 weeks post op and been sick since Saturday. Coughing and sniffles. I dont have any pain really anymore. But if you are coughing try holding a pillow up to your abdomen and cough. Try not to cough to hard. Feel better soon!

Thanks. That's what I've been doing small little coughs and my daughters Hello Kitty pillow. I hope you feel better soon too!

I got an awful head cold with cough after surgery. The insomnia and clear liquid diet did nothing to help. But my humidifier was a life saver. It kept the air moist which helped my throat and cough. Good luck with everything and feel better :-)
