Thanks for all the replies it has helped me. My surgery date is 1/28/13. I will be doing this surgery alone but I am motivated to succeed. Good luck everyone.

a good sized robe to take walks in the hallways, non restricting comfy clothing, baby wipes or flushable wipes for clean ups and refresh yourself, keeping things not to heavy or to big.people use cells, laptops also.

Toothbrush, cell phone charger, house shoes, books/iPad/kindle.

Honestly first day of recovery I asked my fiancé to bring up my ipad and a board game I love for the next day. He got there I was so exhausted and in pain I passed out and didn't wake till after he went home, I felt so guilty lol. So you really won't need a whole lot. I slept mainly, played on my phone and read a book, well some TV depending on when I was awake (mash, ncis, law and order lol)

I had about 12 channels of health news and hospital tv plus a few regular channels and that was it, got totaly duped on missing my fave tv shows.
