Doc said it was bmi that decided. If under 35 or close it was 3 days. Higher bmi could have been week to a month. 2-3 day mark were struggle for me but it was mental. I could drink as much as I wanted and the protein many times a day really worked.

Thanks Tawnie. Did you have 3 days?

Yes but I did loose 5 lbs. I was barely made it at bmi 34.8. Just .2 more and would have been week! I liked some of the fast track protein items dr.currys team had available. Some icky but ate them cause I had to. But none horrible ;). Lived off hot chicken broth before and after

Ok. My bmi was exactly 35 on Monday 1/21 when I met w/surgeon on Thurs 1/24 it was 34.9 at my 1st Nut appt. He told me I can't lose anymore weight or I won't get approved through my health insurance. Horizon BCBS-NJ. I'm anticipating a March surgery date so I'm nervous about dropping anymore weight before my authorization appt.

Isn't that an unusual problem to have? I guess every insurance company is different. My surgeon said my insurance used the bmi from my initial consult. But my bmi was over 40 so it really want an issue for me. Good luck and get to the Cheesecake Factory while you can!

Yes mine was self pay for that reason. You will be fine. ;). Don't worry.
