Calling all Mama's...

I have a 9mth old at home and was wondering how long each of you waited until you picked up your little rascal? I don't know how

long I can go without holding my little stinker(or how long he LET

me go WITHOUT holding him). Is holding and cuddling o.k. or is it

just the picking up part that is the no-no?

Thanks,

Sacha

Sascha, how much does he weigh? It's mainly the picking up that the dr. is concerned about. It's o.k. to hold and cuddle. You may not want him to kick you in the tummy for a while!

It's so hard not to cuddle. My son was just 2 years old when I got banded. The main thing with we was not to pick him up cause you use your stomach muscles. As soon as I got home he was hugging me.

It was about 3 weeks when I started picking him up and that was probably too soon.

Mine was 3 at the time of my surgery, but i did not pick him up for 6 weeks. he did snuggle with me. A few times I had a problem with him jumping on my tummy, OUCH!

Sascha ...my doctor said not to lift anything over 10 lbs. except my grandchildren one weighed 15lbs the other 22lbs. He said the way their weight was distribuited made the difference. But I did wait for about 3 weeks,Good luck...Janie
