pre existing wait period

I was scheduled for surgery back in July and my insurance company denied me because I had a pre existing condition wait period. as of January 18th I will have had my insurance for 1 year. My doctor's office is planning on resubmitting the claim for surgery end of January early February. I think that because I have completed my first year with the insurance company there should be no problems for my surgery to be approved however I am still very nervous about it being denied. Has anyone else experienced this and how did it work out for you. My surgery is now scheduled for February 11th
