surgery @ 8 am tomorrow.

Everyone is asking me if I'm excited. I am, but there's some serious trepidation. I have a son with MD who depends on me. I had to tell his dad that he had to do better if something were to happen to me. I don't want to jinx it, just want to make sure things are in order. Still have so much to do tonight.

You are going to be great! Deep breath! You can do this your journey in life has taken you to this point... Tomorrow at 0800 you start the next journey a new life for you and your son. Hold trust in your surgeons hands and your OR team. Think happy and positive! Tomorrow night we will all be looking forward to hearing your tails of post op day 1!!

They are a good team... I'm sure I'll get through everything just fine. Just having pre-surgery jitters.

Good morning all. The surgery went well. I was released from the hospital about 26 hours after coming out of recovery. Walking helps a lot. I walked as often as I could. The worst pain was on the second day. Felt like I did 1000 crunches. It has subsided this morning. The most disgusting thing was the stuff I was coughing up. They intibated me and it caused some trauma. I asked the nurse practitioner and she said the color was normal. When I blew my nose today it was similar. I have small airways though so I hope no one else deals with that. If you do don't freak out if you see blood. Going #2 was a big deal. I'm switching to liquid tylenol today. Trying to get away from the oxycodone. We'll see how well I do. Good luck to everyone. Prayers were much appreciated.

Hi Sabrina! Good to know you did very well. Same thing with me, I went home the next day, but pain really hit hard at home. I am still taking lortab (Vicodin / tylenol) syrup, and should be off that by tomorrow. Have a speedy recovery to all of us and will keep everyone in my prayers!

I stopped the Lortab during the day on Wednesday. I took more Wed night only because I had cramps. Fun times - my aunt pays a visit at the worst time. No more though - not until I get some stool softeners. Not fun trying to go for 30 mins. I switched to quick release tylenol gelcaps and they are working great!
