Filling? HA!

The nurse at my doc's office asked if i'm a liquid diet for my preop...so i say yes, and give her details since she asked. She's a skinny little thing. She then proceeded to tell me that I should be so full with all the protein in the protein shakes. I didn't want to laugh in her face, so I held it in, but my god, you couldn't be further from the truth. Full?? um...no. you couldn't be further from the truth. please tell me i'm not the only one that's hungry on the preop liquid only diet...

you are not the only one :) I struggled through my two week pre op. I was thrilled to see surgery day because I knew I wouldn't be HUNGRY anymore! And I'm not .... for the most part

Thank goodness I did not have to do that long! However, for the short time I did do it I found the Protein drink to be a sanity saver. :) Not the doctors though, sorry to say - especially since I had to buy a huge bag of it! :(

Don't tell my doctor ;) but I weighed today and I am already down 7 lbs. Before the actual procedure I had taken a stroll down "memory" lane -- I ate those things that I enjoyed, and now am not craving things. I found with my previous diets that it was more about that than anything else. So I would fall off the wagon. But I am not hungry anymore, so it makes it easy (for me anyway) to follow this plan.

Hope this helps.

I see that you are post-op. How did it go and how are you feeling?
