I did me research, read a lot on here, my mom(& 2 uncles) had gastric bypass 10 years ago, and a friend at work was sleeved 5 months ago so I know a lot about both. I just can't seem to be able to get over the re routing of the intestines part. I have bad acid reflux/ heartburn and that was one of the doctors reasons for wanting to do the bypass instead. He did say it was my choice and he would do either but now I'm torn and don't know which to do???

I think the main question here is: Are u willing to possibly make ur reflux worse by having the sleeve? Or would u rather deal with rerouted intestines and a stretchier pouch?

Have they done an EGD yet to check on the heartburn? The sleeve is suppose to make heartburn worse. I think the PP summed it all up!

I am scheduled for a scope by the surgeon on jan 30. I was so set on the sleeve until met with him, I will see how the scope goes.
