I was wondering if the time off for the post op recovery period was paid by short term disability or not. Obviously this is an elective surgery but I wasn't sure how that worked. It probably just depends on your company? Anyone able to share?

Once my insurance approved the surgery, my post op time off was covered by short term disability.

I'm in CA and took a month off and got disability. I received the maximum weekly amount which was nowhere near my salary but at least it was something!!!
