This might be a dumb question but..

I was wondering if the time off for the post op recovery period was paid by short term disability or not. Obviously this is an elective surgery but I wasn't sure how that worked.

    It might be you would have to pursue it with your company. I would suspect that they may require documentation from your doctor to start with. Being elective is one thing but this surgery IS life saving, it's not like a nose job or something like that.

    That makes sense.. I was hoping that I wouldn't need to use PTO to get paid.
