My surgery was last tuesday and I have to keep track of every oz of liquid I intake every hour and the amount of Protein. So far I have been using a grid my doc gave me but I was wondering if anyone here had any creative suggestions to keep track of food intake or knows about an app that might be useful.

Myfitnesspal, as suggested, is excellent. I also used 8 oz bottles of Water to start. I'm not a huge fan of bottled water, but it helped me keep track when I was delirious for the first week or so, as I could just count the number of empty bottles when I was feeling lucid.

I'm 6 days post open and I'm having a horrible time getting all my liquids down :(

It's been only 4 days since mine and so far I have been doing ok. I'm sipping all day to get at least 64oz of liquids and so far I have been tolerating Water, deluded juice, fortified milk, Protein shake and chicken broth. I also can eat sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello. For The First 3 days it was a little harder to keep up to intake the 64oz of liquids but today I felt appetite and was easier. I also really like having one or two popsicles a day I think that has help with the swelling because I feel great eating them.

I had a tough time with the fluids at first, really until I was on the full liquid diet. But I did get everything in - I had a timer go off every 15 minutes (boy was THAT fun) to remind me to sip, because I just couldn't remember. That helped a lot - an sip or two every 15 minutes got me up to my required count.

I know!!! I would keep forgetting too but I did it! Now I am on a puree diet. It was amazing 2 days ago when I got egg for Breakfast, I wanted to taste some food so bad because I was tired of just liquids but it was great that only after 4oz of egg I was fully satisfied.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
