I am getting ready for my sugery on November 2nd in Kansas City Missouri. I had to call the hospital for a pre-equal. The nurse was not sure they could do my surgery because my blood sugars have been up. My last A1C (average) was 9.4, which is around 250. That was about 4 weeks ago, so it might be down now and I have to have it retested tomorrow. She said it has to be below 150. Now...I do have a little bit of beef with them because if I had to have my gallbladder removed or something else...they would just do it. I also have to have a EKG now. The doctor didn't order this or say anything about the blood sugars being a problem.
Did your doctor or the hospital tell you this?
