4 Days Post Op... Advice?

Hi all,

I was just sleeve Monday 11/26. I am 4 days post op and am looking for any advice you can give me. I get so full so easily. I was looking forward to soft queso fresco for lunch that I cut off an oz and left the cheese on the counter CONVINCED I would need to cut off more. I got a little under half way through and even that was pushing it. I am ridiculously full still and I ate this over an hour ago. : ( I love cheese but : ) restriction.

Any advice on how to survive the first few weeks? I am on soft foods and am drinking optimum nutrition 100% soy Protein. My dad is concerned that I am not eating much, he is the one who bought the cheese specifically to encourage me to eat more.

Any advice for Water intake? I can get in about 20 oz and 6 oz protein in a day.

And any advice for walking? I am perhaps lazy but I just do laps in my house and get tired so fast. And I break a sweat so fast as well.

Thanks for the help!!!!

At 4 days post op I was still on a liquid only diet. I was only able to get in about 20 oz of protein drink or water and maybe a little chicken broth. It gets easier. But don't push it.

  • Are you taking anything like Nexium or Zegrid?

  • I suggest not eating something because someone wants you to do it. Stick with the program. You will be better off for doing that.

Oh! Vitamin D. I have drops to supplement the upcal d and my multi. You could get pills cheap at a CVS or Walgreens.

Ok thanks....n ima do b12 also

I'm doing a multi' date=' Vitamins b1, b12, d3, Biotin, calcium citrate.

Seems like a lot lol but that's my required ones.[/quote']

Yes it do !!!! I may need to check into that .....ima ask when I go to da doctor Tuesday....Thanks

I don't eat right ever so I may need all of that n some

I am 4days post op also. I work all day to get in Water. I know I am still not getting enough water in yet. I haven't had a bowel movement and can only take a couple sips at a time. My surgeon said that I will hate him now but love him later because he makes a tighter sleeve than most. He said my stomach is only the size of my pointer finger. I am more worried about getting my water in for now so I don't get dehydrated. I will worry about more Protein later. Too bad no one has come out with a Chettos flavored Protein shake. I am already tired of the variety of sweet shakes out there.

That was my worry, I'm 4 days out also. Just keep sipping and as long as your urinating your ok. If that stops that call your doctor. Do what u can it will get better.

Try a heating pad on your stomach for the gas! And don't worry' date=' I am 4 weeks post op today, you can start to get a feel for what you can eat and drink as the days go one.[/quote']

Oooooowe!!! The heating pad is a winner!! Thanks!!!!

I was under the assumption that I could not take anything else.

No no, you should be on something like that. My surgeon wrote me a 3 month script for Nexium and I was also told to suppliment that with Zergreid. Get with your surgeon or PCP and start working that. you'll feel much better.

Do they come in liquid form.

Do they come in liquid form.

Not 100% sure, but both are really really small. Haven't had a problem getting them down at all. You can get Zergrid, OTC and it's tiny too.

I ordered that book, Eating Well After Weight Loss. I'm excited!!
