4 Wks Post Op Miserable

I am 4 wks out from surgery unable take protien in any form getting very little fluids in i cannot eat anything without wanting to vomit. I had complcations from internal bleeding & kidney failure due to blood loss. I wish i had never had it done i am sick of being sick. Please those of you considering surgery to look very carefully at all poss.complcations. i am very disgusted with my results i have no strength, stamina, nothing & i will not till i can take in protien which is impossible. Good luck if you decide to go through with it

Who's your surgeon Lux?

He is in southern Louisiana would rather not give his name

Did they do any blood cultures on you while you were in the hospital? This may help lead them in the direction to find out what could be causing your problems.

Also try licking a little salt for the nausea..not a lot, it cuts the nausea..old remedy from my grandma..it works!

No cultures. But all my lab values where good no signs of bleeding or infection.

Ask for blood cultures next time..they pick up what basic labs don't.

Hi all I hope everyone is well ? Me well I'm doing ok I have had complications from day one of my first surgery May 15 lap band removal. and still do and I'm 3 months post op from sleeve Lux I am also an ALS provider so this may sound silly but I was also fighting nausea and it was the vitamins go figure, unfortunately I have been out of work for 7 months , And my Dr will not let me return to work because of complications. Despite every bad hurdle that I have tripped over , I wouldn't change a thing. It does get better and I'm proof of that. I would also like to add 45 lbs lost yay me !!!!

Thanks for your story i hope they get me figured out soon just spent another 24hrs in hosp for vomiting & dehydration. see my surgeon tomorrow

It really sounds like a leak. Vomiting is a sure sign. Be firm and have the med people triple and quadruple check for it.

Hey Lux, how'd it go at your surgeons? How are you feeling?

Lux...are you ok?

Just got home from hosp stay my dr says he is confused seems i have a pocket that fills then shuts off the rest of my stomach. So now i have a NG tube suppoesdly to rest my stomach i dont know how long i can stand the tube

Very uncomfortable

Really sorry to hear this. After getting to know a few here who've had complications, I feel for you as they almost all took time to resolve. Stay as strong as you can. Keep on it, fight for yourself, you truly have to be your own strongest advocate, and don't be afraid to get a second opinion.

Oh no Lux. Sorry to hear this news. Glad there is some movement for you though and that there is something being done.

Please keep us posted and feel better soon!

I hope they get this figured out soon Lux. It's definitely not normal to have vomiting go on this many weeks post op. I hope your dr. is running every test under the sun to find out what is causing all your nausea, while even on nausea medication.
