Why No Carbonated Drinks?

I know we're not supposed to have any cokes, Pepsi, etc., but I found some flavored water with 0 everything but it's carbonated. No caffeine, no calories, no nothing. I am having trouble drinking plain water as it gets me so nauseated and I don't know why. So my question is why can't we have anything carbonated?

I was told the carbonation will expand in your stomach causing it to stretch. Which is what you don't want.

Yes, the gas takes up too much room in the stomach.

that exactly right, the carbon can cause your sleeve to stretch
