Help With Pre-Op Diet

Hi all!

Surgery will on 12/4/12. My doctor (Michael Schweitzer) does not require a pre-op diet only 24 hrs prior surgery. I would like to loose some weight before surgery and don't know what to do. Any advice on pre-op diets?

    About two months preop i stopped sugar, including pasta, bread and all starch. Plus i stopped caffine and i dud this on my own.

    My preop diet from my dr was A shake twice a day and then chicken and salad for dinner, for two weeks.

    Then three days preop clear liquids only. I stuck to it pretty close and never cheated while on liquids. I think it helped prepare me for sure.
