So this has been a common theme in many posts lately so I thought a poll was in order. I'm not sure if it's already been done, but either way, deserves a revisit!:nervous

I selected to have the responders, and their time off, listed so that those with specific questions about returning after a certain length of time can perhaps ask questions directly to those lapsters. Hope no one minds.

i voted 1 week, because that's the time that I initially scheduled, but I went back to work after 6 days because I had some clients to meet with from out of town. After I went back on day 6, I worked from home the next 3 days bc I still wasn't quite right.

I was off for 11 days but was so ready to go back after 5 days but I had to take all my vacation time are lose it.

At the time I was a trauma ICU RN. I took 2 weeks off and had an additional week of light duty work. If I didn't have to lift so much for my job, I would have been back to work a couple of days after surgery. I felt great for the most part. But the 25 lb weight lifting restriction meant I couldn't do my job, so I had a longer recovery time.

I had surgery on 7/25 (Fri) and went back to work 8/4 (Mon). it ended up being 9 days but that is because I only work M-Th. I could have gone back by 4-5 days post-op.

My job is 75% desk and 25% running around the building taking stairs, etc.

I took a month off because I work a physical labor job where I'm required to lift patients at a hospital on occasion (same story as the post a few above me). I wasn't going to take any chances. If I worked a desk job, I could have easily gone back after a week at most. No light duty offered at my job. I don't regret taking the month off with out pay.

Had surgery on a Friday morning, was back to work on the following Monday...I have an office job, so there no issue. Even managed the 40 minute walk to work.
