I Need Help

Hi everyone, I am new to this site and my surgery date has been set for Nov.6th and I go for my preop appt. on Oct.11 and that is when my surgeon Dr.David Lindsay from Toronto, Ont. is deciding which WLS to do. I want the VSG and have decided this awhile ago, but it is between the gastric bypass and VSG my dr. says it's tougher to get approval for the VSG unless there is some issues around previous surgery's leaving lesions or if i have chrons or collitis. I have had a previous surgery (Appendectomy) that I had complications with an abssess and my dr.feels we can disscuss this at the appt. in oct. as I may be a candidate if I have lesions and he can tell OHIP(Ont.Health Ins Plan) and then they would approve it. Gastric bypass is covered as it is considered a gold standard surgery but I really really want the VSG. Sooooooo anybody out there have some things i could say to make the Dr. give me the VSG I need to know what i can tell him. any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks KIM

I switched doctors when the first one didn't think the sleeve was for me, but I felt strongly i didn't not want the gastric bypass. I wanted to work with a practice that "believed" in me being a success with the sleeve - if that makes any sense at all.
