Crossing The Border!

Hi everyone!! Was needing some input, I'm applying for my passport this coming Wednesday and my surgery is set for September 26th, gives me 3 wks! My friend who has been to Mexico many times says I'll be fine crossing back into USA with just a birth certificate and drivers lic, what are your experiences or thoughts? Please and thank you!!

my 30 year old daughter crossed with me on Friday Sept 10. all she had was id and birth certificate. no problem at all. they were more concerned about the dead steer leg stuffed with a glass bottle she bought and was bringing back accross with her. lol

I went to Dr almanza on 9-30-12, we had no passports only ID and birth certificate.. it was not a problem..
