Day 3

Post op I have a horrible backache and chest pain is it normal? Also where I have my drain is killing me I have a lil leakage from the part on my stomach where it comes out is that normal? I'm really terrified I don't want to get infection......

The leakage is normal but I would still ask a nurse. My drain ports hurt too for a few days but after that they were just irratateing, they rub the skin. As long as you don't see pus or smell something nasty I wouldn't be worried about infection. They pumped you antibiotics durring surgery believe me. Hope you feel better soon. Hang in there.

Thank you so much can't wait to get this over with n get the drain out .....

Walk as much as possible to get that gas out & it'll help that pain so much!!!! If it's back pain from muscles & laying around, my Dr said it was ok to use a heating pad. If you're taking liquid Lortab, my Dr. Also told me I could take ibuprofen (not more Tylenol which is already in the Lortab) also to help w/swelling pain. It gets much better, so hang in there!
