Last Meal During Optifast?

Hi, I'm starting optifast on July 23 rd, but my husband is out of town for about 2 weeks before and during my liquid diet. He is home on July 27th and my daycare lady is having a free parents night out on the 27th....so I am wondering could I start my optifast on the 23th and then have my last meal out with my husband on the 27 th (only eating actually food for dinner that day) and then continue back on optifast on the 28th until surgery or will that mess up my program....

And I know its not my last meal for real, but my last normal one for a long while :)

I should tell you not to and it is a bad idea---it will make the whole 2 weeks harder.....but honestly, I am in the middle of my 2 week pre-op and I may eat something before surgery. Realize that if you do, however, you will pay for it.....it will make it harder to get back on track. Good luck whatever you decide.

  • 2 weeks later...

My doctor has put me on a 6 week pre op diet but I am allowed 1 normal meal at night, so 1 shake for Breakfast, 1 for lunch and then lean meat and lots of vegies for tea.

As long as you stick to the diet I don't see why having one meal in the 2 week period would be harmful.. goodluck
