My mom has the band and she had high blood pressure, sleep apnea, rheumatoid arthritis and several other problems. I'm not sure with the medications on the market for cholesterol etc. if triglycerides qualifies, but I don't have a band yet and I'm not really sure.

good luck

I am not sure, but I think they are normally looking for a BMI of at least 40.

My doctor says you should have a BMI of at least 35 with comorbidities, otherwise BI of 40. My insurance has additional specific criteria to qualify for surgery...still waiting to hear if I am approved for surgery.

I was only a 35 BMI and had a few comorbities ie: high cholesterol and glucose intolerant. It all varies by your ins co and you. Hypertension and high triglycerides do help you to qualify as comorbities though.
