Sorry I cannot offer any advice about free foods on the preop diet because doctor's preop diets can vary quite widely. I would refer you to any paperwork you got from your doctor or nurse about the preop diet. If you don't have anything, I suggest you give one or both a call.

My weekly weight loss has been as follows:

05/28/12 -12.2

06/04/12 -2.0

06/11/12 -6.8

06/18/12 -6.8

06/25/12 -4.4

07/02/12 -.3.6

For reference, I started my preop diet on May 22nd and my surgery was on June 5th. I lost 14.2 on the 2 week preop diet and 21.6 since surgery 4 weeks ago.

Good luck to you in your journey. The preop diet does get easier. For me and a lot of others I've seen post about it, it seems to be around day 4 when it does.

I'm 4 weeks post op. I lost 2lbs a day for the first 9 days. Then stalled for 8 days and am now losing about a pound a day. I'm down almost 45 lbs counting the 20 lbs I lost pre-op.

update: 5 weeks out and I lost a total of 50 lbs. Lots of liquid and lots of Protein. Very little hunger and very little desire to eat. I have to remind myself that scheduled eating is necessary. Exercise is mainly golf at the moment.
