Pre Op Diet Question

Has anyone tried taking Metamucil capsules for hunger while on Pre op diet? This was recommended on Dr. Garcia's pre op diet instructions. If you did, did it work? my experience with Fiber supplements has not been very pleasant ( tons of bloating).
