  • Wow, you all are LUCKY! I am on week one of two weeks of a clear liquid pre-op diet. I have three to four protein shakes a day, sugar-free Jell-O, broth, sugar free liquids, and sugar free popscicle

  • Don't be so hard on yourself! From everything I've read here, the pre-op diet is the roughest part. But it's also supposed to get much better after day four. Hang in there, you will make it! And you'l

Today starts my clear liquids. I have surgery on Tuesday. Why is it that my body decided to pick THIS day to wake up starving?

It is tough this wonderful pre-liquid diet yesterday I let out all my irritation and irretability have to have two weeks Bariatric Advantage meal replacement shakes, clear liquids uggh it is hard but day 2 is easier I pray each day gets better. I was craving a pickle and tuna fish kind of strange.

Get the small pkgs of the Walmart brand of sugar free Jello. Its 20 cals and 4gr protein! Mix it IP according to the directions AND DRINK IT! warm liquids are more satiating than cold drinks or food. It has saved me from cheating many times! Get the wm brand because it has half of the calories as the brand name! Save cals and change, win/win lol

Cissie ~ I was so tickled when I saw this. Brings back good memories: My daughters granny taught us this so long ago. I'm on day one of 2week preop diet, I have stocked up from Walmart and plan to have a warm cup this pm as a treat.

I'm pretty excited to say that my family is following the diet w me for the next two weeks as well. It helps so much!!!

Very happy that I found this thread. It's nice to have others that understand exactly what you're going through!

Its good to hear that all you guys are doing it..... I am diabetic and even though i haven't start mine yet, i know is going to be hard. When i got the diet from my cordinator i try it for one day and it was bad, i got so sick and drepressed that i gave up. my sugar levels when down it was such a bad feeling that i was not able to do it. The sad is part was that i try to contact my doctor and no luck the cordinator was not able to tell me what to do, even worst.... The good new was after no luck on my prior doctor or cordinator i decide to look for another doctor, I did and this doctor told me that i only have to do it for 3 days, i con only do yogurt any kind, protein shakes and suger free yello which i think is going to work for me.
