Endoscope Before Surgery

Because I have had some issues with heartburn, I requested that Dr Kelly scope me before surgery to make sure everything is healthy and OK for surgery. We are planning to do it first, and then go to surgery if everything is OK.

Has anyone else been scoped? Does it leave you with a sore throat?

Yes, I was scoped by the local surgeon as a part of the insurance hurdles. And yes, I had a sore throat for several days and it aggravated the acid reflux that I had never really felt before.

Hi...yes I was scoped a couple weeks ago....I was totally fine afterwards. In fact, I had a friend drive me straight to work right after it.

So is it not a good idea to do it the day of surgery?? Now I'm not sure.

I was scoped before surgery, my throat didn't hurt at all, but I did have cramping where they did biopsies and from the gas the put in of course.
