Do all of your research on both. Ask lots of questions and read, read, and read some more. I looked into both and just couldn't get comfortable with my insides being rerouted and the risks of malnutrition, diahrea, and sometimes death, it just scared me too much. I've just had the band for 6 weeks but have lost almost 30 pounds and I don't think I would have lost anymore than that with the expensive, longer healing time, and higher risk surgery of the bypass, but it has to be your decision and what you feel is right for you. I know there are people on here who have had the bypass and would swear by it but it just wasn't for me. Good luck in your decisions.

So, the band really does work? I was afraid i wouldn't loose any weight.

Thx for your response. Good luck !
