Sitting In The Er

Luckily it's nothing too serious, but I'm dehydrated and I have a UTI. :( I starting running a fever last night which of course had me worried, so I'm relieved it's a UTI. It amazes me how much better I feel with the IV fluids too. Thank heaven for modern medicine!

How does a doctor/ER know that you are dehydrated and need fluids? What other signs/symptoms indicate dehydration other than dark urin and not needing to use the restroom?

They were able to tell from my urine sample and blood work. Plus my mouth was completely dry!
