Ironically for me after the surgery I cannot stand the taste of artificial sweeteners any more. My NUT basically said that I can have sugar but just in limited amounts.

We are almost sleeve sisters, mine is scheduled for May 30th. Did you get insurance approval? I am waiting for mine..... Good luck to you!

It's not so hard to avoid them, even in Protein shakes. There are a lot of products out there sweetened with stevia or other natural sweeteners so you shouldn't have any more trouble than usual findi

I am having surgery on May 29 I am excited and really nervous
I keep having these what ifs and what nots! lol My Granddaughter has PKU and can never have anything that contains aspartame or that is sugar free, and the thought of having it in my home scares the crap out of me! I am the only one who cooks in my home and I love to cook, just hoping i can still be the great cook and not get discouraged any input would be wonderful!
