Bcbsil

I have 1 more appointment for my 6 month supervision. The medical assistant said after my last appointment they will submit to insurance. How long does/did it take to hear back from BCBSIL? Is the approval easy? Any advice?

  • My BCBSIL approval took 1.5 business days. They submitted on a Thursday afternoon and I called Monday afternoon, and they told me it was approved that same day around noon Good luck to you!

It takes a matter of A few days 2-3. Feel free to call and check the status' date=' when they tell you that your approved, have them fax u the letter. As your doctors office most likely want it in writing.[/quote']

How long did u wait to call insurance company? I'm a very impatient person. If they send it to insurance on a Monday or Tuesday when would u call to check?

It took exactly 4 weeks to get my approval once all the paper work was submitted properly.

Oh my gosh, you are all giving me such high hopes. I had my appointment with surgeon yesterday and he said he'll dictate the letter and I was told by the insurance coordinator she will try to get it out to BCBSIL tomorrow. I am not sure how long to wait to contact them. I will need to attend 4 hours worth of nutritional and nursing classes held on Wednesdays, as well as have an upper GI, EKG and blood work and also do 2 week liquid diet before surgery, so I'm hoping to have the surgery before June, so I don't miss out on swimming this summer. Good luck everyone and I'll let you know when I hear.
