Medications Immediately After Surgery?

Just realized that I need to find out how to take meds immediately following surgery??? I take fluoxetine capsules. If we are on clear liquids for days after surgery how do we take our meds? Crush them up in the clear liquid?

I'm on the same medication and didn't have any problem during post-op. You can open the capsules and just dump the little balls into your mouth, then swallow with regular liquid. That's what I did. I started out using apple sauce, then realized it was just easier to dump them into my mouth. I used apple sauce for the Actigal though, because that stuff tastes pretty bad.

I had several meds to take post-op because of an allergic reaction I had to something they gave me at the hospital. I had the standard Omeprazole, but also Prednisone, Sucralfate (big ol' pill) and Pepcid.

I was pretty hesitant to take a full pill, I couldn't even do that with my lapband. I took everything just fine, except the Sucralfate which I bit off into thirds.
