Mark As Read Function Not Working?

I visit the forums a lot and always click on the VIEW NEW CONTENT link, read the threads then use the MARK AS READ link at the bottom.

For the last several days the MARK AS READ appears to NOT work. At the next visit when I use the VIEW NEW CONTENT I DO get the new content, along with all the other messages - about 8 pages worth going back for 24 hours or more, even though I just visited an hour ago. I have tried it on 2 PCs and one Android tablet - same results, same logon of Rootman.

Something busted?

Hey there, I can not seem to replicate this..are you attempting to mark the forums as read on each device you've tested (2 PC's, Android Tablet)? And no matter what - it doesn't work?

I'm going to do some additional testing - but as much information you can provide as possible would likely help out!

Thanks!

Yep. I visit on either PC or tablet. Click the VIEW NEW CONTENT link on the center top of the page, peruse through the posts I want to read on new browser tabs (using Firefox 11.0) and then scroll to the bottom and click the MARK AS READ, then the MARK ALL AS READ links. I can do it again and it still shows a huge number of posts, all the way back to the previous day. I'm inserting a screen shot, I don't know if it will show. I use the Android app and have similar results, I mark ALL READ and go back and it shows hundreds of posts. Time doesn't seem to make a difference, it can be HOURS later and still show days of posts.

Hello, I do not see a screen shot attached here. If you click mark all as read at the bottom of the forum - and then immediately go to the View New Content, does it still shows all the content, or is it blank at that time?

Yeah the pic didn't come through. As I already indicated if I MARK AS READ and go back to VIEW ALL right away it shows 8 pages with hundreds of posts. This happens to me in Firefox 10 & 11 and the Android app.

OK on a lark I went to a TOTALLY DIFFERENT PC and logged into the forum as me. I then used IE 8 on Windows 7 (rather than FF on XP I usually use) and did the VIEW NEW CONTENT link top center. it showed 8 pages of links dating back a few days.

I then went to the BOTTOM of the page and clicked the MARK AS READ, it popped open and I chose MARK ALL AS READ, this took me back to the forum home page. I AGAIN clicked VIEW NEW CONTENT and got the SAME 8 pages of posts, and a few new ones that were posted in the ensuing minute or two it took me to go through this.

This proves to me that it's not the PC or browser.
